Every year the Lions of Mount Pleasant Township do a variety of community projects. Such projects include: Drug Awareness, Westmoreland Fair Food Booth, and the Lions Talent Show.

Below is a complete listing of the Lions comittees responsible for these programs, and the men in charge:

Coordinates all district functions & activites between the club & the district.

Membership
Promotes new membership as well as the retention of current members. Reviews due & delinquent members. Schedules new membership events & coordinates the districts annual mass induction dinner for new members, their sponsors, & our current memebers.

Food Booth (Maintenance)
Responsible for electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, renovations, & general maintenance of the food booth at the fairgrounds as well as pre & post event cleanup.

Food Booth(Menu/Food)
Responsible for establishing menus, setting prices, purchasing good, obtainting volunteer groups, establishing work schedules, & operation of fair food booth.

Social
Schedules the annual club picnic, Christmas party, charter night, & other social events. Also establishes & recomments the location of these events, menus, prices, & makes all event reservations.

Youth
Coordinates financial support for local scouting organizations. Takes charge of the Drug Awarenesss (Red Ribbon Campaign) peace poster contest & the district youth seminar.

Community
Responsible for financial doncations & other assitance to various activities within the local community like Meals on Wheels, Memory Tree of Excela Frick Hospital, & Camp Focus. Monitors donations to fire fictims int he community or others in the local community that may be affected by various disasters. Also responsible for coordinating the holiday food certificates. Reccomends financial assistance to various special projects that may be beneficial to the community.

Sub Sale
Responsible for ordering subs, insuring sufficient volunteers are available & responsible for the financial aspects of the sale. Also contacts delivery customers.

Scholarship
Coordinates within the school district and township. Reviews all applications and selects award winners.

Talent Show
Coordinates the show with the school district & establishes prizes & gifts. Also insures that sufficient prizes & gifts are available at the show. Coordinates winners with the district show.

White Cane
Schedules collections at various locations, schedules volunteers, counts donations, & delivers all the monies to the treasurer.

Broom Sales
Maintains a supple of brooms at all locations where they are sold. Coordinates broom sales.

Eye Care
Coordinates eye exames & the purchase of eye glasses for needy individuals within our community. Coordinates with the district caravan to train our members & schedule the caravan visits to our community.

Blind Association/Beacon Lodge
Coordinates all the association's functions & needs with the club. Responsible for the Beacon Lodge 500 Club within our club. Also responsible for all activities at Beacon Lodge.

Legal, Security, & Insurance
Provides advice for all legal matters, insurance coverage, & security for club activities.

Publicity
Promotes club activities & good will within the community through newspaper & electronic media. Informs the district of our activities in writing & pictures so that we can become more visible in our own community as well as the district.
